What Netta had initially perceived as a single day of sleep for her to heal, was in fact three. She had spent four entire days in the Veil. A part of her was surprised that she hadn’t been eaten or gone crazy. Yet neither happened.

By the time she had gotten her normal clothes back, they had been completely cleaned and stitched together. Her shirt was much shorter now than before, revealing a sliver of her stomach. The slice to her abdomen had left her shirt in shreds. To her luck, the shirt she had mistaken as a dress was given to her, though it had belonged to Reon originally. Netta had objected to the offer, claiming she would rather go walking around topless. She didn’t mean it, but she had to proclaim some sort of detestation of the gift.

If she had to have guessed who the clothing once belonged to, she would not have guessed Reon. She would have expected that it came from someone who was more muscular like Alden. His clothes always seemed like they were one second away from tearing apart. She wouldn’t have guessed that the shirt belonged to the long slender man, granted he was taller than every member of the home. Compared to all the Mystics, Netta felt like a child in comparison. She constantly had to look up in order to meet her eyes to theirs. Using the stairs were the only times she was able to properly stand at their level.

During her many stays, she did eventually take Reon’s offer to use his bath. Though physically clean, she could feel grime lingering on her body and underneath her fingernails. He had prepared it swiftly after her command. A scent of grapefruit, rosemary, and cinnamon. It reminded her of home. A pondering thought wandered into her mind as she sank into the blissfully warm bath, if Reon had noticed her smell from when she had taken a bath with Nive’s new scents. A fool’s thought, she washed away any sentiment from her mind with a wet cloth. She had worked through knots in her muscles and was weary of her stomach where only a nasty scar remained. Refusing to admit to the others, her body finally had begun to relax. She had expected for Reon to be outside the bath, ready to catch her vulnerable with nothing but a towel. To her surprise yet again, he was nowhere to be seen. Unless that is, he somehow turned himself invisible, though she doubted that he would even try.

On her seventh day, a letter had materialized in the middle of the table. She damn near choked on her bread. The letter was addressed to Reon in neat cursive handwriting. He tried to mask it, but his jaw flickered at the sight. His expression increasingly soured the more he read. Suddenly, he jumped out of his seat, abandoned his plate, and rushed out of the room. Lunette was in close pursuit. Only Erebus was the unconcerned one, relishing in Reon’s leftovers.
